These incredibly intricate sandstone formations have been carved by the flow of wind and water through beds of sedimentary sandstone. These vertical rock columns populate Bryce Canyon and other areas of the southwestern United States.

About Jim Snyder

Jim Snyder

If it is visually interesting to me, I will click the shutter. Sometimes the result is interesting to me. Sometimes it even seems to be interesting to others. Many of my photo subjects are provided by nature. Nevada and the Sierras provide ample opportunities to capture nature’s beauty. Sometimes it is rugged, sometimes pristine, sometimes just interesting for its own reason. Historical places and structures, modern and traditional ranch scenes, rural life, plants, animals, rocks, clouds, weathered wood, textures and patterns in nature, and water are some of the other subjects I enjoy exploring photographically.
